For our lighting, we’re using a desk lamp, a torch and a tv.
The desk lamp should allow us to create larger contrast between highlight and shadow, or chiaroscuro, lending to the noir thriller style of the film.
The static from the television will cast a cold wash over the room, as though illustrating the motif of death. The torch is used to link to Maria’s flashbacks, as she aggressively wipes the blood from his face - an ironic statement of her revenge.
